About us We are a very small and very independent publisher of scientific books (and the like), with a somewhat varied and curious history. We relish our independence because it allows us to go where larger and more conservative publishers fear to tread. But, of course, there is a downside. We can't afford to advertise in the way that large publishers do and we have had problems in regard to distribution. Big distributors buy from big wholesalers.They, in turn, only stock books in high demand. Accordingly, major distributors, like Amazon in the United States have been known to proclaim that our books are either out of print or difficult to obtain. In fact they are all available in PDF, for immediate download "open access" On the other hand if you prefer books on paper or on CD we will be happy to meet your needs in more traditional ways.
